Real Tequila is liquor made only in Mexico, which has been distilled from the sugary juices extracted from the cooked heart of the Weber Blue Agave plant. Grown around the city of Tequila, 40 miles northwest of Guadalajara in Los Altos. Approximately 300 million blue agave plants are grown in this region. When grown at higher elevations the agave plant tends to be sweeter. At lower elevations the plant will have a fuller hibiscus flavor and fragrance.
